About Me

Who am I? I am just a 40-something woman who decided it was now or never. We’ve all been there, right?

After years of struggling with losing and re-gaining weight, I decided to hire a personal trainer because lifting has always been my passion. Well, that and dance but since I tore my ankle and knee three years ago…not so much. Moving on…

Professionally, I have worked mostly in management. I spent nearly 12 years managing animal clinics and during that time, started a food blog when I thought I wanted to become a vegetarian. I added a second blog not long after and eventually that became my full time gig.

Six years and GOD knows how many recipes later, I became very burnt out. I made the decision to sell those two blogs to a very nice couple in Australian.

Since my history and knowledge involved animals, I started a new pet-themed blog which you can check out here: ProjectPAWS.org

But I also decided I wanted to do more of a lifestyle blog. I have interests in health, wellness, fitness and trying to finally get my OWN diet on track. So you’ll see some “What I Eat In A Day” type posts, but the photos were likely taken on the fly with my iPhone and not my trusty old DSLR camera. The recipes are from many of my food blogger friends, not my own. I’ll provide macros and any substitutions I make to fit my macros, however. That way, if you are on the same path & want to make it as pictured, you can follow along.

As I  learn about food and the health benefits, I’ll be creating posts for you here. Eventually, my trainer and I will even be posting video of some workouts, tracking my progress, what works, what didn’t, how to train with injuries, etc.

I also spent some time doing front office management for a med spa and I’ve always been interested in skincare, nails, makeup, etc. So you’ll likely get a bit of everything here.

If you ever have any questions, concerns, a suggestion…or just want to say “hi”, you can contact me directly at [email protected] 🙂 Otherwise, let’s just have fun, learn something, get to know each other, create a community. Getting healthy is easier with friends, right?
