These French Dip Sliders feature buttered Hawaiian rolls, slow cooked caramelized onions, melted Provolone, and flavorful, thinly sliced deli roast beef. I’m serving mine with a side of au jus for dipping!

Ingredients you’ll need to make this recipe

You’ll only need about half of this packet and it was still more than enough if you were to double this recipe. I saved the other half for another time. So half a packet and 1 1/2 cups of water, brought to a boil and then removed from the heat. That’s it!

You’ll also want to prep the chopped parsley butter. I simply melt mine in the microwave for just about 30 seconds on high. Set aside.

It’s time to make our onions and I begin with 2 tablespoons of butter and a small amount of sugar. The sugar just helps the onions get caramelized faster. I add Worcestershire sauce and a few ladles of the prepared au jus.

Cook until golden and that sauce is almost syrupy.

To keep the beef moist, I submerge it into the warm au jus. Remember, this is cooked deli meat, so the goal is just to hydrate and warm it.

How to make French Dip Sliders

To assemble, place the bottoms of 6 Hawaiian sweet rolls into your pan. You may notice that I am using parchment for ease of removal and just while I assemble (for photography purposes), I used clips to keep the parchment out of my way. Be sure to remove those before baking!

Top the rolls with Provolone slices, followed by the roast beef and caramelized onions. Reserve the au jus that the beef was warming in for dipping later!

This 8″x6″ baking dish is the perfect size, but any will do! *affiliate link

Finally, top with the other half of the rolls and brush with the melted parsley butter.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are warm. The butter will absorb into the rolls.

The tops get golden and just slightly crisp. These little gems are just about the most flavorful and delicious things I’ve enjoyed in quite some time. Yum!

Serve with the reserved warm au jus for dipping!
