These Keto Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Peppers Are filled with a mixture of seasoned ground beef and shaved sirloin – all of the traditional flavors you love Without the carbs!

I have been wanting to make my version of this low carb recipe for quite some time! If you are not doing low carb, feel free to slice this up and put it on a hoagie roll. Let’s get started…

Keto Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Peppers

My recipe includes ground beef, shaved sirloin and chopped mushrooms. To further enhance the flavor, I am adding a mixture of beef broth, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.

My grocery store carries Gary’s QuickSteak, as well as a bit thicker sliced sirloin in the meat department. Of course, if you can’t find either, feel free to buy sirloin and using a sharp knife, slice your own.

I brown the ground beef and sirloin together and remove to a bowl to avoid overcooking. Add butter to the pan along with the diced onions and mushrooms. Cook until tender.

Add the beef and sirloin back to the pan along with the ketchup, Worcestershire and beef broth. Reduce slightly.

It should look like this.

Slice the green peppers directly in half and remove the seeds and membranes.

Place the pepper halves into an 8″ baking dish and fill with the meat mixture.

Top with plenty of grated cheddar.

In an oven that has been preheated to 350 degrees, cook until the green peppers are tender and the cheese is golden.

Serve one half per person and again, if you are not low carb, you can slice these up and place on a hoagie roll. There’s so much flavor here, I really think you are going to love them!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb Ground Beef
  • 12 oz Sirloin thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 c Onion diced
  • 8 oz Mushrooms diced small
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup LOW CARB
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 2 bell peppers Cut in half through the stem, seeds removed
  • 4 oz Shredded Cheese I used Cheddar but Provolone would be nice too
  • 1 c Beef Broth

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Add the ground beef and thinly sliced sirloin to a hot pan and cook about half way through. You should see some golden browned edges and that just adds to the flavor. Remove to a bowl. The meat will cook the remaining time in the oven.
  • To the same hot pan, add butter, onions and mushrooms, sauteeing until the onions and mushrooms are tender.
  • Add the meat mixture back to the pan.
  • Next, add the ketchup, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and beef broth into the pan.
  • Slice the peppers in half and remove the seeds and excess membranes. I leave the stem intact.
  • Divide the mixture evenly between the peppers and top with the shredded cheese. I used cheddar today but any melting cheese you enjoy would work.
  • I baked mine uncovered for about 30 minutes and then covered with foil for the remaining 15 minutes. Cook until the peppers are tender and the cheese is golden.
  • Allow to sit for about 5 minutes before serving...it's HOT! 🙂
